Event Planning: 5 green boxes, Denver
Location: A private residence
Emily carried a bouquet of emerald and champagne roses and chartreuse hydrangeas. The arrangement was delicately bundled with an ivory satin ribbon.
The bridesmaids carried fuchsia and ivory roses, chartreuse hydrangeas and berries. The bouquets gave a burst of color to their chocolate brown chiffon dresses.
The couple married in a backyard garden of a friend‘s home. Erik‘s mother decorated a metal archway with foliage and flowers. As guests entered the garden, they were given white paper fans to keep cool.
Rather than using traditional escort cards, the couple attached their guest‘s seating assignments to a board covered in embossed ivory wallpaper and accented with satin fuchsia roses and paper doilies.
The focal point of each table was a chartreuse paper vase filled with fuchsia roses, eucalyptus, green astilbe, and baby‘s breath. The arrangements were tied off with chocolate and organdy ribbons.
Emily and Erik had a tough time finding a venue that would allow them to incorporate their own design elements. A family friend offered their beautiful property and the couple couldn‘t resist. The held the ceremony in the garden and set up the reception beneath a spacious tent.
The couple turned to Erik‘s mother and his sister, a professional designer, to plan the event. They hung green and white paper lanterns across the tent and dance floor. Chocolate linens covered the tables along with brown overlays and a brown and green damask patterned fabric. As the sun went down, the tent began to sparkle with dozens of white twinkle lights.
The four-tiered fondant wedding cake mimicked the brown and green damask pattern that Emily had chosen for the invitations.
Guests took home miniature takeout boxes with a chocolate dipped fortune cookie inside. The cookies were covered in green sprinkles and contained a message that read, "Thank you for celebrating with us."
High school and college sweethearts, Emily and Erik dated for ten years before exchanging vows in a modern ceremony at the home of a family friend.

The Date August 11

Their families had grown very close over the years and Erik decided to propose on Mother's Day while both families were having dinner at her parent's house. After making a special toast to their mothers, Erik pulled out his great grandmother's ring and asked Emily to become a permanent part of his family. Emily was shocked, but happily accepted the beautiful piece of family history.
